A Hard Day's Night

Artik spoke the words, and the dragon appeared.

Makoto had tracked the energy. When he arrived he saw that he was right. Someone had summoned Shenron. Makoto landed and then he saw who the summoner was. Makoto looked visibly upset but he didn't lose any of his determination. "Artik!"

"Makoto!" He yelled back, waiting for the damn dragon.

Makoto walked up to his friend. "Artik...I am sorry that I have to do this...." Makoto took a minute before speaking again. "I challenge you for the wish..." Makoto was not happy about having to fight his oldest friend.

Artik blinked. "There's two. You can have one."

Makoto blinked. "What?" Makoto didn't know what to say. "When did that happen?"

"Five hundred years ago. Cell was there, and Goku needed Dende to restore Dragonballs. Remember?" Artik laughed.

Makoto gave a sigh of relief. "I have never been good at history."

Artik materialized some chairs. "Just promise you won't go crazy this time."

Makoto rubbed the back of his head. "I think I have it under control." Makoto was relieved that he disnt have to fight Artik.

Artik smiled, "Well. Unless Cyril snaps, we're all good."

Makoto stopped and thought of that. "To be honest Artik I feel that there is a pretty good chance of that happening at some point." Makoto clenched his fists. Makoto hoped that Cyril didn't try to come and take a wish.

There was a warm, yet slightly abrasive, humming noise as Cyril arrived. "Hello all!" Cyril greeted his friends cheerily, but in a kind of defeated manner.

Artik waved. "Well, as long as no one else shows up...."

Stanial ran up. "ARTIK! I challenge you!"

Makoto grimaced. Now both Cyril and that annoying Namekian were here.

"I'm not challenging anyone" Cyril assured Makoto.

Artik didn't know what to do. So, he snapped his neck, killing him.

Makoto relaxed a little and nodded. "Shebron should arrive any second now

The sky blackened and thunder rolled. Flashes of lightning accompanied the rising of the eternal dragon from the balls. "What is your wish?" The dragon eyed Artik warily.

Artik spoke, "I am the Dragon Slayer. I wish to have enough power to attain Super Saiyan!"

Thunder roared. "Your stay in HFIL will be quite amusing." The dragon rumbled. "Your wish is granted. What is your next wish?"

Makoto stepped forward. "Shenron! I want to be able to protect everyone! Give me the power I need! Help me become a super Saiyan!"

The sky slowly began to clear. "Your wish is granted." The dragon flew back into the balls and they scattered over the Earth once more.

Makoto felt the power inside of him surge to unimaginable levels. "YES!" The air around him crackled with power as he began to transform. Suddenly he stopped. "What is going on?"
