"Oh, don't patronize me," Cyril muttered good-naturedly. "But nonetheless, we should all be careful. The warriors who made this place are said to have a base power level around one billion. That may not be much for you Amaterasu, but those are only just the lowest grunts." Cyril spun around and took the place in. Just a cave. Hmm. "At least," he amended, "That's what the few Mystic Oneiroi around here told me. I dunno how much we can trust their word since I've seen neither hide nor hair of these warriors yet."

Emily side-stepped a bit closer to Amaterasu.

Amaterasu gave a good natures smile. "Hey. I'm kidding, but I really will protect you if need be."

"I know, Ama," Cyril sighed, suddenly worried about people dying on a simple archaeological expedition. "However, I don't think anyone will directly attack us outside of traps. I think we managed to arrive here long after the warriors left or died out. So er.. don't walk on or in front of runes like we saw outside I suppose." Cyril would have liked to given a bit more instruction than that, but alas, he didn't know what to expect.

Emily had walked further on into the cave. She conjured a ball of ki to light the way. "It looks like it goes straight on for quite a bit."

Riza was content to let Cyril lead te exposition so he just looked around. "These markings are extremely familiar

"They are reminiscent of older Seraph languages. Perhaps with pre-Nova Roman influence." Cyril stood by Riza while Emily wandered off. "Or perhaps they don't mean anything. Simply a means to contain power, conduits arranged to resemble a language by coincidence."

Emily tugged on Amaterasu and Sarah, "Come on, while those two dorks talk about linguistics we can get to the interesting stuff." Emily walked onwards into the cave, ball of ki in hand. The walls slowly became smoother and more metallic as they went on. "Looks like we're getting into something. Oh wait, there are more runes." She pointed a circle of runes on the floor. It wasn't wide at all and it could be easily walked around, but Emily was cautious.

Sarah stopped them. "Wait....." He walked forward and looked around a corner. She gasped and ducked back around.

Cyril looked back and saw that Sarah and Emily looked rather nervous. "They must have found something." Cyril jerked his head at them and motioned for Riza to go with him. Cyril made his way down, careful to avoid the circle. "What?" He whispered.

Sarah covered her mouth, telling them to be silent, then motioned for them to look around the corner

Cyril looked around the corner. Was he supposed to describe what was there or was Sarah?

Riza was shocked. There was a person examining the ruins. It was Sarah, but a Sarah that was there in the time that this was. She had six wings that she kept close to her body.

Cyril blinked. "I didn't send us back far enough then," Cyril whispered. "It's not possible that someone from this era of time could have witnessed my birth. Not a Seraph anyway." Cyril took another furtive glance. "She's not from our time though, I believe. Is she a future version investigating the ruins like us?"

Emily decided she didn't like pocket universes.

"No...I remember this to. I was searching and then I heard a noise. I heard a noise!" She quickly covered everyone's mouth and pulled the away.

The past Sarah looke their way. "I coul have sworn a heard something....never mind." She then walked out of sight.

Cyril waited a beat after the other Sarah left view. "I cannot believe you are native to the ruin's time period." Cyril hissed. "The impossibilities are tremendous. You would have surpassed the Seraph life expectancy by unrealistic leaps and bounds! You would have been killed or taken by a plague or- or got tired of living and killed yourself!" Cyril looked frustratingly puzzled. "Perhaps you were pre-War and you found these ruins before I."

"What was she looking at?" Emily whispered.

Sarah shrunk away from Cyril, tearing up. "I-I'm sorry...I-I'm just telling you what I remember."

Cyril's face softened, "Shh, I know. I'm not angry at you, I am only baffled." Cyril checked over the corner again to make sure other Sarah hadn't moved back. "And perhaps a bit worried. Is it safe for you to be here in these strange ruins with a past-you running amok?"

Sarah got up. "I can heal from almost anything. I'm also stronger than you. And I have my master and my friend to guard my. I think I'm alright." She closed her eyes. "If I remember right I went home right after that."

Cyril shrugged, "Alright. Shall we proceed then?" ((On a slightly related note, where do you keep Sarah's power level and how did she get stronger than me?))

Emily wanted to see what other Sarah had been looking at.

Cyril straightened his jacket, still thinking about the other Sarah.

"Whoa," Emily breathed as she rounded the corner, "look at all these pictures!"

Sarah frowned. "This is creeping me out."

"D'you mean the graphic depictions of war on the wall or your hazy memories?" Cyril asked without any trace of irony.

There was indeed an entire wall painted excellently to resemble a smoking field, scattered with melting corpses of red beings of varying sizes. A Seraph with an aura that took up half the painting stood in the center, a three-bladed pike planet firmly beside him.

Emily punched Cyril for being insensitive.

Sarah mumbled something after studying the Pictures. "The black winds howl...."

Emily frowned, "Wait what did you say, Sarah?" Emily was suddenly even more worried.

The reference went over Cyril's head. "I don't think there's any wind in here, Sarah." Cyril touched the center figure. "Those bodies look like Oneiroi. I guess these were those warrior's enemies. I wonder who this guy is?"
